A town council is marking White Ribbon Day with a day of online talks.
Malvern Town Council will host a series of online talks, panel discussions and interviews on Tuesday, November 25, to mark the internationally recognised day which raises awareness of violence against women and girls and promotes action to end it.
Councillor Emma Green, who is helping lead the campaign, said: “I am proud that Malvern Town Council has decided to mark White Ribbon Day this year.
“I really hope that the resources that will be shared during the day will help and support the people within Malvern.
“I would love to see the residents of Malvern getting involved in this journey to promote ending violence and would encourage anyone to join us virtually on the day to understand more.”
Throughout the day, the council will share short, pre-recorded videos from a variety of charities and organisations supporting White Ribbon Day.
This will then be followed by a pre-recorded panel discussion hosted by Ms Green and Councillor Josephine Leibrandt highlighting what violence can look like, who it affects and how to get help.
All resources will be available via the Malvern Town Council YouTube channel and social media accounts.
The town council hopes the virtual format will make it easy for people to engage with the content and share it within their networks.
Residents are invited to watch, share, and participate in the day’s activities.
Anyone with questions for the panel discussion or who wishes to get involved in the event can contact Councillor Emma Green at [email protected].
More information about the programme and how to access the online content is available on the Malvern Town Council website.
The council said the event is part of its wider commitment to raising awareness about important social issues and supporting community wellbeing.
