Tottenham Hotspur have been presented with a potential opportunity in the transfer market as Karim Adeyemi’s situation at Borussia Dortmund continues to attract attention, according to TEAMtalk.

The German international has been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga this month, with Dortmund understood to be open to discussions at the right price.

With Spurs already active in January and planning further attacking reinforcements, the winger market remains under close review. While no formal approach has been made, the possibility of Adeyemi becoming available has now been raised internally, prompting further assessment over whether such a deal would align with Tottenham’s short and long-term strategy as the window progresses.

Adeyemi offered to Tottenham as winger search continues

Speaking for TEAMtalk, transfer journalist Dean Jones revealed that Tottenham have been “offered” the chance to sign Karim Adeyemi, with Borussia Dortmund believed to value the forward at around £60 million this month.

“I’ve heard whispers about Karim Adeyemi being offered to them,” Jones said during a Facebook Live broadcast alongside Graeme Bailey on Tuesday evening. “I think he’s going to be pricey, and I don’t know whether he’s exactly the right fit for what they want.”

Adeyemi’s availability comes as Dortmund assess their options ahead of the second half of the season, with the Bundesliga side prepared to listen to significant offers. Tottenham, meanwhile, remain focused on adding attacking quality following their recent midfield business, but any move for Adeyemi – described as being ‘ice-cold’ and ‘faster than a speeding bullet’ – would represent a major financial commitment.

Bailey added that Spurs are expected to prioritise a winger as their “next major” signing after completing their midfield plans, reinforcing the idea that wide areas remain a key focus for the club.

Why Adeyemi remains a high-risk, high-reward option

From a sporting perspective, Adeyemi offers qualities Tottenham currently lack in wide areas. His pace, direct running and ability to stretch defences make him a constant threat in transition, while his experience at Champions League level adds pedigree despite his age. When at his best, the Germany international has shown he can decide matches at the highest level.

However, concerns remain over consistency and fit. Adeyemi has endured an uneven spell at Dortmund, with injuries and form fluctuations preventing him from establishing himself as an undisputed starter. That context explains Jones’ caution over whether the winger aligns perfectly with Spurs’ tactical needs under their current setup.

Financially, a £60 million valuation would place Adeyemi among Tottenham’s most expensive signings, increasing the scrutiny surrounding any deal. Spurs are expected to weigh value carefully rather than act opportunistically, particularly given wider squad needs and ongoing injury concerns.

As it stands, no formal talks have been confirmed, but Adeyemi being offered to Tottenham underlines the scale of opportunity available in the market. Whether Spurs choose to pursue the deal will depend on cost, fit and how their winger search evolves as January enters a decisive phase.
