WINCHESTER — Three people were arrested after an investigation into a crash that killed a 20-year-old from Keene last year, Winchester police said in a news release Thursday night.
Lydia Massiah died in a Nov. 17 crash when the 2014 Volkswagen Jetta she was driving east on Ashuelot Main Street in Winchester crossed the center line, hit a utility pole and flipped over, according to a police news release. Police previously said a teenage girl from Winchester was also seriously injured in the crash.
On Thursday afternoon, police executed six arrest warrants at 38 Richmond Road in Winchester, arresting three people. The charges related to conduct before the crash and incidents that came to light during the crash investigation, according to the release.
Anthony Doleszny of Keene faces charges of prohibited sales and two counts of criminal threatening; Heather Masucci of Winchester faces charges of intentional contribution of delinquency and endangering the welfare of a child; and Derek Baldwin, also of Winchester, faces three counts of criminal threatening; two counts of reckless conduct; two counts of criminal restraint; and two counts of simple assault, police said. Masucci and Baldwin both lived at 38 Richmond Road, according to police.
Massiah and the girl were the only occupants of the Jetta, and alcohol and driver inattention were determined to be the primary causes of the November crash, according to the release. Police also said that a lack of seat belts contributed to the seriousness of the injuries.
Police said they determined how the crash happened after conducting interviews, the victims’ positions when first responders arrived, reviewing video and a reconstruction by a trained motor vehicle investigator.
Police said the investigation is still ongoing.
