WASHINGTON (Amazing America) — You have to check out this sweet little hidden gem we discovered when we had a few hours to kill before flying out of Orlando, Florida. It may not be on a list of must-stop spots, but we think it should be.
We’re talking about the Chocolate Museum & Café Orlando, also known as the World Chocolate of Museum. It’s located in a strip mall and looks pretty unassuming, but step inside and you’ll quickly see it’s anything but.
Not only is there an impressive bakery filled with decadent chocolate treats, but it also comes with a history lesson. This quaint and cool museum also offers a guided tour that includes chocolate tastings and the stories of how chocolate became our must-have treat around the world. The tour takes about an hour and a half, and trust us, you’ll walk out feeling like a chocolatier — or at least someone who knows more about chocolate than most people.
The highlight of the tour is the collection of 25 sculptures made of famous landmarks from around the world, all crafted entirely from chocolate. It took years for the artist to complete these rich replicas.
There are various tour options, from the $19 museum tour to a fondue tour for two for $49, or you can purchase a treat at the café.
Remember, location is everything, and since this hidden treasure is located in a strip mall, there are several nearby shops where you can pick up souvenirs before heading to the airport. It is a local hot spot with wine pairings and other events held year-round. And yes, the chocolate soufflé tastes just as good as it looks.
