For me, finding affordable ways to treat my skin effectively has always been difficult as products are either too harsh on my skin, break me out, or just do not work. Last year all of that changed for me when I was gifted a bottle of Leogony Lightening Turmeric Serum, that my friend said her beauty therapist had recommended.
When I first tried the product, I used it before going to sleep and placed a few drops from the applicator into my hands and although it is described as a serum, it poses more of an oily consistency and gives the skin a noticeable shine. The consistency is very smooth and this is the perfect product if you love the ‘glass skin’ affect when I woke up the next morning, I was shocked when my face felt incredibly hydrated and that the product had now left a healthy Looking glow on the skin.
After using this £6.99 product consistently, I started to notice that any dark circles or blemishes I had where healing and getting lighter and the days that I went not using the product, my skin felt the difference in the morning. The product gives off a clean scent which isn’t too overpowering which is great if you have sensitive skin like me.

The full product description for the Leogony Lightening Turmeric Serum, 30 ml reads as followed:” Our Leogony Lightening Turmeric Serum is a ground breaking skin lightening serum, specially formulated to help you achieve a radiant and glowing complexion.
“The turmeric combination in this serum makes it a unique offering. Turmeric oil for face in our formula aids in dark spot removal and also offers benefits of anti-inflammation and antioxidants. This turmeric serum dark spot removal solution is not limited to just your face. It also doubles as a potent hyperpigmentation serum, which can be used on other parts of your body, promoting an even skin tone wherever applied.”
Other than me, a customer who has also seen huge improvements to their skin after using the serum wrote: “I use it on my face every morning. It does seem to improve my skin. Clean the face, add serum, let it dry then moisturise as usual. I have patches of lumpy and bumpy skin occasionally and this does seem to improve it. Turmeric has many useful properties and think this is one of them. Would recommend, particularly if you purchase two packs then that’s good value as it lasts a long time.
Another customer added: “A friend recommended this serum to help clear the dark spots on my face, it does make them fade but as yet mine are still visible. It’s lovely to apply and sinks in to the skin very quickly leaving my skin feeling very smooth.”
Elsewhere, Boots offer Garnier Brightening Serum which you can get for £13. This serum has niacinamide & salicylic acid and like the turmeric serum says helps to target dark spots. You can buy it from Boots here
Back to the Leogony Lightening Turmeric Serum now and another customer said: “I have been using this for a while now on my third bottle and I have to say I believe it works. I had very black circles under puffy eyes and I have noticed that the darkness has gone although my eyes are still puffy but this product is not for that. I am of Afro Caribbean origin so it works well in my daily moistening routine. I place under my eyes and then generally massage my whole face.
“At first there was a slight tingle which I didn’t mind at all, as I felt it was working. This was only when I very first used it. I don’t have that now. It isn’t oily at all once you massage it in well and I am still able to put a light moisturiser on top. I will continue to use as it makes my face feel alive and softer. And because you only need a few drops the small bottle lasts for ages, so I find it value for money.”
