The maiden voyage of a luxury superyacht turns into a deadly mystery in “The Woman in Cabin 10,” premiering Friday on Netfix. Keira Knightley plays Lo Blacklock, a journalist covering the trip, who witnesses a woman fall overboard. However, none of the other passengers believe her (including the ship’s rich owner, played by Guy Pearce), forcing Lo to take matters into her own hands to reveal the truth. The film is an adaptation of the hit 2016 novel of the same name by Ruth Ware. Available on Netflix
The trend of making live-action adaptations of beloved animated movies hit the world of “How to Train Your Dragon” earlier this year, with actor Mason Thames stepping in to play protagonist Hiccup, previously voiced by Jay Baruchel. Like the original, Hiccup befriends his wide-eyed dragon pal, Toothless, ultimately helping his Viking town learn to coexist with the mythical flying creatures. The film flies onto Peacock beginning Friday. Available on Peacock
Food and travel star Jesse Burgess, of Topjaw fame, hosts the new eight-episode docuseries “Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars,” premiering Friday on Apple TV+. The show, from celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay’s Studio Ramsay Global production company, follows top chefs around the world as they look to impress throughout the course of the Michelin Guide season. Available on Apple TV+
There’s good news and there’s bad news for fans of “The Witcher.” The good: Netflix’s fantasy drama (which is based on the hit book series, although newer followers of the franchise may be more familiar with its popular video game adaptations) returns for season 4 at the end of the month. The bad: actor Henry Cavill will unfortunately not be back as protagonist Geralt of Rivia, the heroic monster hunter seeking his destiny. Liam Hemsworth takes over the role instead. Before the new season begins, relive the glory days with Cavill’s Geralt and binge watch seasons 1-3 this weekend. Available on Netflix
As the Halloween season continues, enjoy a scare this weekend with one of last year’s top horror flicks, “The Substance,” streaming on HBO Max beginning Friday. The film follows Elisabeth Sparkle (Demi Moore), an aging star who looks to reinvigorate her career by using a fictional drug to create a younger version of herself (portrayed by Margaret Qualley), but experiences some pretty grotesque side effects. Globe film critic Odie Henderson praised “The Substance” in his 3-star review, calling the last 20 minutes of the movie “the best part” for its “wall-to-wall, nonstop blood and gore, mostly done with those old-school practical effects.” Available on HBO Max
