Since joining PitchBook News in 2022, he’s chronicled the rise of generative AI, goings-on in venture capital, and profiled startups and market trends in nearly every vertical. Previously, he covered enterprise tech for Business Insider, writing about Nvidia and Broadcom’s acquisition of VMware. Jacob started his career in journalism locally in the Berkshires in Western Massachusetts.
Aaron DeGagne is a senior analyst at PitchBook, where he covers digital health and medical technology. He contributes to quarterly and annual vertical reports and produces analyst notes on emerging technologies and VC and PE deal flow in healthcare. Prior to this role, he was a public equity analyst at Morningstar covering medical devices and diagnostics. DeGagne received a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Notre Dame. He is a CFA Charterholder based in PitchBook’s Seattle office.
Alex Frederick is the Lead Analyst for Agrifood Tech & Consumer at PitchBook, where he leads research and analysis on the foodtech, agtech and consumer sectors. He authors quarterly deep dives and thematic analyst notes that are frequently cited in key publications such as Business Insider, Bloomberg, and CNBC. Previously, Alex served as a Venture Associate at Impact Engine, focusing on impact investing in tech-enabled businesses across healthcare, education, economic empowerment, and resource efficiency. He holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University. Based in Seattle, Alex is recognized for his expertise in venture investing, early-stage strategy, and market analysis within the agrifood and consumer tech landscape.
Eric Bellomo is a senior emerging technology analyst at PitchBook, where he supports the firm’s industry & technology practice covering retail, e-commerce enablement, and gaming. He authors quarterly deep dives and thematic analyst notes on these verticals. Prior to joining PitchBook, Bellomo was a researcher at Forrester Research and a digital product manager at EF Ultimate Break. Bellomo holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Villanova University. He is based in PitchBook’s San Francisco office.
