Roam Network, the decentralized connectivity data network for telcos and physical AI, has released a major update to its Android app, RoamApp. With over 100,000 downloads on Google Play, the new version brings a redesigned interface, an updated points and rewards system, and better tools for the network’s global contributor base.
App Update Overview
The updated RoamApp is structured around three core actions: move, contribute, and participate. Users can monitor contributions in real time and track point accumulation through a simplified dashboard.
The app operates in the background with low battery and data usage, collecting anonymized connectivity metrics such as signal strength, latency, coverage gaps, and handover behavior. That data feeds into Roam’s live map of mobile network conditions. Points will be distributed daily and converted to ROAM tokens at the end of each weekly epoch.
Connectivity Data and Network Intelligence Context
The physical world is mapped in fine detail, but the digital layer on top, including signal quality, latency, and dead zones, remains less visible. Telecom operators spend over $9 billion per year on network monitoring, yet many still rely on static drive tests that miss indoor coverage and real-time conditions. Roam replaces this model with continuous sensing from real devices operating in real environments.
The same dataset has applications beyond telecom analytics. Drones, robots, and autonomous vehicles require continuous connectivity to offload compute and coordinate movement. While they can navigate physical obstacles, connectivity disruptions such as dead zones and latency spikes remain operational constraints. Roam converts connectivity conditions into structured data inputs for machines operating in physical environments.

Contributor Reward Mechanism
Contributors receive Roam Points for verified data submissions. Quality is weighted more heavily than quantity; mapping new areas carries greater allocation than submitting duplicate readings from covered locations. Each data point is validated against cell tower records and nearby devices before inclusion.
Points convert to ROAM tokens at the end of each week. The token operates under a fixed capped supply model. When enterprise clients purchase Roam’s network intelligence services, a portion of those commercial payments is allocated toward acquiring ROAM tokens from the open market and distributing them to reward pools, linking commercial usage to token allocation.
Platform Expansion Roadmap
The app update is part of a broader platform evolution. Over time, the network will expand beyond smartphones to include vehicle modules, drone kits, wearables, and IoT devices.
The new RoamApp is available on Google Play.
