Quant trading may be a prestigious job, but it’s hard to brag to your friends outside finance about which company you work for. If you’re in Paris, there’s a solution; UEFA Champions League winning football club Paris Saint Germain (PSG) has started its own quant trading team.

PSG is hiring a quant trader in Paris within PSG Labs, a tech accelerator launched by the club earlier this year. The role is primarily focused on trading crypto and tokenized assets, but also involves trading traditional assets. PSG says it is the largest club in the world to hold bitcoin as part of its balance sheet.
PSG is looking for a relatively junior trader. They’re expected to have a PhD and/or quantitative masters, and expected to have 3-5 years of trading experience in crypto, hedge funds, or prop trading firms. The trader will also assist in PSG Labs’ broader efforts to create agentic AI tools to be used across the club. PSG Labs’ head Par Helgosson said via LinkedIn that “this role is not for everybody. We will work until we are done… we will build this as we go”
While trading digital assets, the quant might be inclined to place a few bets on PSG. Blockchain-based smart contracts for sports betting available on sites like Polymarket have grown increasingly popular in recent years. PSG alone currently has active trading volumes of $28.6k on Polymarket. Prop trading firms have been known to engage in sports-betting in the past, but have treated it as a major taboo, with multiple firms actively denying they do so.
Working for PSG can earn you some employee perks you’re unlikely to find in finance. Employees on Glassdoor note they get match tickets to big games, but only after a few years of service; that means the quant won’t be able to watch PSG lose the UEFA Super Cup final to Tottenham Hotspur next Wednesday (😉).
