The DEM Party has initiated a disciplinary process with a request for the expulsion of Silopi Mayor Jiyan Ormanlı on the grounds that he does not comply with party policies.
DEM Party has referred Silopi Mayor Jiyan Ormanlı to the disciplinary committee with a request for his expulsion.
Jiyan Ormanlı, who was elected mayor of Silopi district in Şırnak from DEM Party in the Local Government Elections on March 31, 2024, has been referred to the party’s disciplinary committee with a request for his expulsion.
In a statement made by DEM Party, it was noted that Ormanlı has developed resistance against the co-chairmanship system, adopted a self-centered management approach instead of a culture of shared governance, and has not recognized party decisions. Additionally, it was stated that he has failed to meet the demands and expectations of the public in municipal activities and has engaged in practices that do not align with the party’s local government policies.
For these reasons, it was reported that a request for “expulsion” has been submitted to the DEM Party Central Disciplinary Board regarding Ormanlı. It was announced that the details and outcomes of the matter would be shared with the public after the completion of the disciplinary process.
