January 10th – Per Coinglass data, following recent crypto market volatility, current funding rates across major CEXs and DEXs show the market is no longer bearish on BTC and ETH. Funding rates on leading platforms have returned to neutral territory, though altcoins still see widespread negative rates. Specific funding rates for major coins are available in the attached image. BlockBeats Note: A Funding Rate is a fee set by crypto exchanges to align perpetual contract prices with the underlying asset’s spot price. It acts as a fund transfer between long and short traders — exchanges do not collect this fee. The rate adjusts position-holding costs/profits to keep contract prices close to the underlying asset’s value. Conventionally: A 0.01% rate is the baseline. Rates above 0.01% signal a broadly bullish market, while rates below 0.005% indicate a generally bearish market.
