The Chase fans were left “speechless” over a huge change to the ITV game show.
The hit programme aired a festive episode on Christmas Eve (December 24) and saw comedian Lucy Porter, Countdown host Colin Murray, Strictly Come Dancing singer Tommy Blaize, and actor and comedian Asim Chaudhry take on five Chasers.
The Chasers were each dressed as a Christmas lunch item, with the Beast as a Christmas Pudding, the Vixen as a Brussels sprout, and the Menace as a Pig in Blanket. Meanwhile, the Sinnerman was a Turkey, and the Governess was a Christmas Cracker.
Lucy was the first celebrity to take on a Chaser, and impressively earned £10,000 in the cash builder, which host Bradley Walsh said was “very, very rare”.
However, ITV viewers were distracted by the Chaser’s unusual outfits, particularly Darragh Ennis’s interpretation of a Pig in Blanket.
“I’m going to need some recovery time after that,” one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter), with another adding: “Err……… ahem…… I’m speechless.”
