Yosita Fitzpatrick set up Connemara Thai Massage in Letterfrack, a small rural village in Galway, Ireland in October
A Thai masseuse who has stopped accepting male customers after she was bombarded with requests for sexual services and ‘dirty pictures’ has gone to the Gardai . Yosita Fitzpatrick set up Connemara Thai Massage in Letterfrack, a small rural village in Galway , Ireland in October.
But the qualified massage therapist has been inundated with calls and messages enquiring about ‘happy endings’ and has started reporting the communications to the Gardai. The masseuse said creepy men have also sent her pictures of their genitals in addition to asking about the services she provides. Yosita revealed that she continues to receive sexual requests ‘daily.’ Speaking on Liveline, Yosita said requests for sexual services began ‘the second’ she started taking bookings. In addition, she said men have sent her pictures of their genitals and said this is something she never faced while working as a masseuse in Thailand . She said her mental health has been severely affected and even considered closing down altogether. Before, she said 60 per cent of her customers were female and 40 per cent were male. They were mainly locals from the area. She said requests for sexual services were always over the phone. Last week, Yosita announced that she would no longer take on any new male clients. The mum-of-two said: ‘I am fully aware that, in the eyes of the world, the phrase ‘Thai women’ evokes unfair and negative stereotypes – portraying us merely as objects of desire. ‘The truth is far richer. Thailand has so much to offer, and Thai women possess value that cannot be confined to narrow, outdated perceptions. No one has a right to harass me simply because I am a Thai woman or because I own a massage business. ‘I am a therapist. I heal people. This is what I love. It is my purpose, and I do not want to walk away from it.’ She added: ‘I understand that it may feel unfair that I now accept female clients only. There are many respectful men who will lose the opportunity to receive treatment from me because of the actions of a few. ‘I know it is not fair. But I can no longer accept what has been happening. Thank you, Garda, for supporting and helping me today. From this moment forward, any sexually harassing message will be forwarded directly to @gardainsta. ‘I will not block you. If you choose to send inappropriate messages, the only response you will receive will come from the police. All I ask for is simple: respect. ‘Do not send me messages of that nature. It is such a basic boundary –yet why is it so difficult to honour? I know I am not the only one who receives messages like this.’ In a statement, Gardai said they ‘received a report of an incident in County Galway on 13th February 2026. ‘Enquiries are ongoing.’ Subscribe to our newsletter for the latest news from the Irish Mirror direct to your inbox: Sign up here.
