The Texas Rangers aren’t done making free agency moves yet.
The team is signing right-hander Jakob Junis to a one-year deal, a person with knowledge of the agreement told The Dallas Morning News. Junis could be another experienced bullpen option for the Rangers in 2026.
Junis, 33, appeared in 57 games for the Cleveland Guardians in 2025, posting a 2.97 ERA. He spent just one season in Cleveland, joining the Guardians after pitching for the Cincinnati Reds in 2024.
Rangers president of baseball operations Chris Young recently told reporters that “pitching is the main focus” as the club continues to fortify its roster with spring training approaching quickly. The Rangers have spent the winter rebuilding their relief staff, adding players like right-hander Alexis Díaz in free agency.
