Temperatures will reach highs of 28 degrees in parts of the country today as a warm weather spell takes over Ireland.
This morning will be dry and sunny for most, with Met Eireann forecasting some isolated showers along with scattered cloud through the afternoon. It will be very warm with highest temperatures of 22 to 28 degrees in a light easterly breeze.
Tonight will be largely dry with clear spells and a few showers to begin. Cloudier conditions will build in the southwest with the possibility of some light rain, mist and fog developing towards dawn. Temperatures won’t fall below 13 to 16 degrees with light southerly or variable breezes.
It will be warm and humid tomorrow with sunny spells to begin. Showers or showery outbreaks of rain will push up from the southwest with some thunderstorms possible. Highest temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees are forecast for most with light to moderate southerly breezes.

“Showers will continue for a time overnight with mostly cloudy conditions, and some limited clear spells developing. Very mild with temperatures not falling below 14 to 17 degrees, in light to moderate southwesterly breezes.”
Thursday
“Mostly cloudy with scattered showers to begin with before long spells of sunshine break through in the afternoon and evening as showers ease. Highest temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees in light to moderate southwest breezes.”
Thursday night
“Becoming mostly dry overnight as winds fall light and variable, allowing areas of mist and fog to form. Lowest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees.”
Friday
“Sunny spells with light showers easing through the day to leave longer spells of sunshine later on. Highest temperatures of 21 to 25 degrees with light easterly or variable breezes.”
The Weekend
“Likely continuing warm and settled into the weekend with temperatures generally in the low to mid-twenties and light easterly breezes. Plenty of dry weather too, though further showers are possible at times.”
