
To strengthen the cultural and tourism bond between Telangana and Maharashtra, Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao and Komatireddy Venkat Reddy held discussions with Maharashtra’s Minister for Culture Ashish Shelar at the Secretariat on Friday.
During the meeting, Mr. Shelar presented the coffee table book ‘Maratha Military Landscapes of India’ to Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao. The two Ministers held detailed discussions on enhancing cultural cooperation, exchange programmes and tourism development between the neighbouring States.
Mr. Jupally briefed the visiting Minister about Telangana’s cultural renaissance initiatives, including the establishment of a Cultural Advisory Council to promote social awareness, the Guinness World Record recognition for Bathukamma celebrations, and the State’s new tourism policy.

In a separate meeting, Mr. Ashish Shelar also met Telangana R&B and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy where they discussed government policies for the development of the film industry in both States.
Mr. Komatireddy explained that under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, the Telangana government has been focusing on promoting film production and creating world-class infrastructure. He pointed out that areas like Rachakonda are ideal for film shootings and that Telangana offers diverse scenic locations suitable for both Bollywood and Hollywood-scale productions.
He also highlighted that the government is developing Telangana into a ‘Hollywood-level film hub’, with special incentives and welfare measures for film workers. Mr. Shelar invited Mr. Komatireddy to visit the Maharashtra Film City.
