Hyderabad, Oct 23 (UNI) BRS Chief and former Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) today asserted that the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election on November 11 is an opportunity for citizens to reject the current Congress government’s policies.
Expressing confidence in the victory of BRS candidate Maganti Sunitha Gopinath, KCR emphasised that a decisive party victory in the bypoll would be more than a constituency win, marking the beginning of Telangana’s resurgence. He called upon party cadres to work unitedly to protect the State’s future.
KCR, who held a three-hour-long election strategy meeting with key leaders, including K T Rama Rao (KTR) and Harish Rao, directed cadres to launch an intensive, door-to-door campaign. The campaign’s dual focus is to expose the ‘evil, destructive and deceitful’ rule of the Congress government and highlight the welfare schemes implemented during the BRS’s decade-long rule.
Welfare schemes to be highlighted include KCR Kits, sheep and fish distribution, Mission Bhagiratha, Basti Dawakhanas, and Shadi Mubarak.
KCR alleged that the ruling party was fielding a rowdy-sheeter’s family member in Jubilee Hills, calling it an insult to Hyderabad’s educated electorate. He asserted that the electorate would not allow such elements to represent them. He also urged voters to reject Congress leaders who are “demolishing poor people’s homes in the name of HYDRAA.”
The former Chief Minister alleged that the progress achieved during the BRS regime, which made Telangana the number one State in growth rate, has now been reversed.
As the bypoll heats up, the BRS has gained momentum with the induction of Salman Khan, founder of Hyderabad Youth Courage (HYC) and a social activist, into the party. Earlier, Congress candidate Naveen Yadav’s cousin, Gautam, also joined the BRS.
