A yearly fall tradition returns, as the City of Tuscaloosa is thrilled to usher in the season with free community fun with the ninth annual Tech or Treat. The event will take place on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gateway Innovation and Discovery Center, located at 2614 University Blvd East.
It will be a festive evening filled with technology and treats, as “families will move from table to table collecting candy while discovering elements of STEAM — science, technology, engineering, art, and math,” said the press release.
At every stop along the way, children can dive into fun, hands-on activities while exploring and interacting with city departments and community organizations.
Be sure to save the date, and if your organization would like to participate in this year’s celebration, click here to access the application.
Have a community event coming up? We’d love to help spread the word!

To be considered, events should be either free to the public or fundraisers that benefit the community. Sharing your event with us is a great way to reach more people across Tuscaloosa and West Alabama, encouraging their participation and support.
We are excited to help highlight the positive work happening in our area and to support community programs together, making a meaningful impact.
Send your press release to [email protected] at least two weeks (or earlier) before your event.
