Satui, Tanah Bumbu, S Kalimant (ANTARA) – The Tanah Bumbu Police Resort have successfully optimized idle land into a productive corn farming for food security program supporting national food self-sufficiency.
“I appreciate the dedication and success of Tanah Bumbu Police in utilizing idle-land in Jombang Village, (and successfully) produce a bountiful corn harvest,” said South Kalimantan Police Chief (Kapolda) Inspector-General of Police (Irjenpol) Rosyanto Yudha Hermawan in Satui, Saturday (October 25, 2025).
Tanah Bumbu Police Resort, led by Chief of Police AKBP Arief Prasetya, has implemented an innovative approach by utilizing 24 hectares unsused land within the area of PT SBT to create a productive corn planting area.

The Police Chief (Kapolda) said the innovation was a concrete step in supporting the government’s Asta Cita program in food security.
In the meantime, South Kalimantan Police in a simultaneous harvest action has collected 162 ton of corn from 40.5 hectares of land harvested across seven corn planting locations.
In addition to Jombang Village, Satui Sub-district, which served as the harvest center attended by Police Chief together with Head of South Kalimantan Office of State Logistics Board (Bulog) Muhammad Akbar Said, the six other locations spread across the districts of Kotabaru, Tapin, Barito Kuala, Hulu Sungai Tengah, Hulu Sungai Utara and Banjarbaru City.

Yudha said that overall the program has cultivated 1,051.14 hectares land supported by 1,605 fostered farmers.
The success of the program, he said, was a concrete evidence of synergy between the police, local government, business sector, academics, and the community.
To support the program, South Kalimantan Governor has provided four corn combine machines, PT Berkat Ono supported with two corn dryer with capacities of 20 and 40 tons, and two corn storage warehouses from Banjar Regent with a capacity of 182 ton each.
The South Kalimantan Police has also forged a strategic cooperation with PT Inhutani Divisi Regional I in utilizing 3,700 hectares of land as a basis for sustainable agriculture development.
Yudha stated that his sides will continue to expand land and strengthen pentahelix collaboration to support the government’s policies to stengthen national food security and encouraging the community to be more self-sufficient in the agriculture sector.
