Kinza Hashmi has praised Talha Anjum for maintaining calm and composure during his conversation with host Nadia Khan about the recent Indian flag controversy.
The 28-year-old actress described the rapper’s demeanor as “a testament to his patience and strong character,” commending the maturity with which he addressed the sensitive issue.
Captioning her posts, Kinza wrote: “Some interviews test patience, some test character. He passed both.”
The controversy began after a viral clip of Anjum’s performance in Nepal, where a fan handed him an Indian flag mid-concert, sparking a heated debate.
During his appearance on the show Rise and Shine, Nadia Hussain questioned him, asking, “How could you hold their flag when they are our enemies?”
Anjum calmly replied, “Please listen to me. As I have already told you and explained earlier, I am a musician, I am a poet, and I am not a soldier.”
He emphasized that holding the flag was not an act of political allegiance or betrayal, expressing regret if anyone’s sentiments were hurt.
He explained that his intentions were never to offend and that he deeply respects the feelings of his supporters.
Anjum’s composed demeanor and thoughtful explanation drew widespread appreciation, with fans praising his maturity and respect for his audience.
This controversy unfolds against a backdrop of heightened Pakistan-India tensions, where cultural exchange has nearly collapsed since the military hostilities between the two countries during the May conflict.
