The Taiko Security Council is expanding with the addition of Gattaca, bringing specialized expertise in transaction supply chain infrastructure as the protocol matures.
Broadening Security Beyond the Protocol Layer
As Taiko scales and institutional adoption accelerates, the Council’s mandate extends beyond base protocol security. Gattaca, a research-driven crypto technology company focused on building trading and MEV-related infrastructure, brings expertise that positions the Council to address security considerations at every layer, from the base protocol to the economic mechanisms that govern transaction ordering and execution.
The expanded Council maintains its core responsibilities: managing proposal flows, coordinating emergency responses for critical vulnerabilities, and ensuring Taiko’s security standards align with Ethereum’s infrastructure. With the addition of a ninth member, the approval thresholds adjust to 7 of 9 for emergency proposals and 6 of 9 for standard proposals.
Updated Council Composition
As Taiko’s DAO continues to develop, the Security Council’s composition will evolve to meet the protocol’s needs. This addition reflects the growing complexity of securing decentralized infrastructure, where transaction ordering, MEV mitigation, and economic security are increasingly critical to institutional deployment.
