The Blue Mountain School Board is planning for a swing set project at Elementary East that will provide more adaptive accommodations for students.
The word came at the Aug. 13 committee of the whole meeting, where it was learned that the effort is happening in conjunction with the PTO. The plan is to have adaptive swings for special needs students. There will be no cost to the district. Officials are looking into insurance.
In business at the Aug. 28 school board meeting, it was recommended the board approve an annual agreement for generator preventative maintenance from Winter Engine Generator Service, Inc. for the academic year in the amount of $3,450.
Also recommended for approval was a proposal submitted by T & T/Lanco Inc. for labor, materials and necessary equipment for a water heater replacement project at the middle school at a cost not to exceed $52,500.
The board approved a motion to complete two additional services under a previously approved natatorium market analysis. Total cost to the district is $5,000 with expenses equally split between the Blue Mountain Recreation Commission and the district.
The next committee of the whole meeting is scheduled for Sept. 18 at 6:30 p.m. in the district office. The next voting meeting is Sept. 25 at 6:30 p.m. at the middle school.
