Sydney star Taylor Adams punched unconscious in nightclub incident on Saturday night

Sydney star Taylor Adams was knocked unconscious and hospitalised after an incident outside a nightclub in the eastern suburbs of Sydney on Saturday night.
Adams was reportedly punched in the face just metres away from nightclub Club Rose Bay which overlooks the Sydney Harbour, having been celebrating with Swans teammates.
The force of the punch was such that the 32-year-old hit the ground with force and was taken by ambulance to St Vincent’s hospital, but has been released this morning.
It is alleged two men were involved in the incident alongside Adams and an acquaintance.
In a statement to The Herald Sun, NSW Police said the two men involved in the incident were not known to Adams or his friend.
“Just after 10.10pm yesterday, police were called to licensed premises on Vickery Avenue, Rose Bay, following reports of an assault,” a NSW Police spokesperson said on Sunday.
“Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended and were told a 32-year-old man was involved in an argument and a subsequent assault with two men.
“The 32-year-old man was allegedly punched in the face by one of the men causing a small cut to his cheek, as well as being knocked to the ground where he lost consciousness briefly. The men left prior to the arrival of police.”
Sydney released a statement on Sunday morning, saying “Sydney Swans player Taylor Adams was the victim of an incident across the road from an Eastern Suburbs establishment last night.
“Adams was taken to hospital after the incident for further assessment. He was released from hospital at 7am Sunday morning and will be monitored on a daily basis.
“The Sydney Swans does not tolerate violence in any form and is working with Adams and NSW police to identify the offender.”
Adams joined the Swans in late 2023 and has played 23 games for the NSW club in two season, having previously played for cross-town rivals Greater Western Sydney and Collingwood in his 229-game career which has spanned more than a decade.
He won the Copeland Trophy as Collingwood’s fairest and best in 2020 and was also named an All-Australian.
Club Rose Bay is part of an empire owned by Australian business man Justin Hemmes and has been a hotspot in recent weeks after it was opened by the Merivale group.
