Two men have been named as suspects in connection to five burglaries when they were stopped at an airport 100 miles from a Merseyside crime scene they are allegedly linked to. Samir Barbulesteanu, 23, and Ion Zaharia, 44, both of Rookery Road, Birmingham, were arrested on Sunday, November 9 at Birmingham Airport.
It came following an investigation into five burglaries across Warrington, Merseyside, and North Yorkshire. After questioning, the men were each charged with conspiracy to commit burglary. The charges relate to three burglaries at addresses on Mill Avenue and Liberty Close in Warrington, a burglary at an address on Warrington Road in Rainhill and a burglary at an address on Linton Close, Claughton, North Yorkshire.
Cheshire Police said the incidents took place between October 28 and November 9.
The pair have been remanded in custody and are due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on December 9.
