PHILIPSBURG–Sundial School has officially launched its annual job training season, marking an important milestone for Form 4 students in the Care and Wellness and Hospitality streams.

Sundial said in a press release that the Work Experience Program (WEP), which runs from December 1 to December 19, 2025, offers students their final opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the professional fields they hope to pursue after graduation.

Before stepping into the world of work, students participated in a series of preparatory activities designed to strengthen their confidence and career readiness. They completed mock interviews, supported by dedicated community volunteers who offered real-life feedback, encouragement, and guidance. Students also took part in Motivation Day, an annual event focussed on personal growth, resilience, communication skills, teamwork, and the importance of professionalism, all essential components for success during their training period and beyond.

The school said this year’s placements reflect the diverse interests and ambitions of the exam-year students. Training locations include day care centres, restaurants, catering companies, primary schools, elderly care facilities, salons and spas, funeral service providers, and several of the island’s resorts. “By working in these environments, students gain first-hand knowledge of their chosen sectors by applying their classroom learning to real-life situations, building professional habits, and developing clearer visions for their future careers,” the school said.

The Sundial School thanked participating businesses for opening their doors and guiding the next generation, noting that their continued partnership ensures that students not only gain valuable experience, but also learn what it means to contribute to their community with confidence and pride.
