An Edinburgh property could be crowned Scotland’s Christmas Home of the Year as the finalists are announced by BBC. The annual TV special is set to air on Monday, December 15, at 8pm.
The show follows judges Anna, Banjo and Danny as they travel across the country in a search for the most festive homes. Each home will be judged on design, seasonal style and Christmas spirit.
Last year saw Holly Bank House in Dalkeith in the running for Scotland’s Christmas Home of the Year, but ultimately lost the title to Angela and Mark Breen’s festive farmhouse in South Lanarkshire.
Now, an Edinburgh townhouse is one of the five homes that are up for the award. Homeowner Miranda has used a ‘theatrical festive style’ in her merry property.
Ahead of the special, BBC said: “Homeowner Miranda loves to entertain and tries to make sure that the Townhouse of Treasures is a magical place for her children to enjoy.
“She has added new decorations to her collection every year – some of which are vintage – and she now has twenty boxes of decorations in her attic. Miranda’s objective is to bring Christmas cheer to everyone through her theatrical festive style.”
They added: “Scotland’s Christmas Home of the Year is back, with five new festive homes hoping to win the title.
“The judges of the Christmas version of Scotland’s Home of the Year have visited homes in Peterhead, Edinburgh, Millport, Burntisland and Cumnock. Interior designers Anna Campbell-Jones, Banjo Beale and architect Danny Campbell will mark the homes on their distinctive festive design, seasonal style and Christmas spirit.
“The winner will be announced on BBC One on Monday.”
Earlier this year, a producer for the show said: “The gang are back for more festive frolics while they travel the country in search of the five best winter wonderlands across the country.
“We are hoping to hear from homeowners who are fanatical about the festive season and take pride in transforming their homes into a winter wonderland every year. If you are planning on going all-out this Christmas then we would love to hear from you.”
