
Most shares and units prices in Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), fell on the last day of the week Thursday in continuation of the recent trend. As a result, the price indices of all the shares also fell.
The main price index DSEX fell to the level of a month ago. In continuation of the last three working days, the DSE trading also fell further on Thursday.
Market analysis shows shares and units of a total of 391 companies changed hands in DSE on Wednesday. Among the companies participated in trading, prices of 69 increased, 254 decreased and 68 remained unchanged.
Among the shares and units that saw price fall include 145 in ‘A’ category, 54 in B’ category and 55 of ‘Z’ categories.
As prices of most securities fell, the main price index of DSE, DSEX, fell by 22 points to 4,831 points on Thursday. This is the lowest position of the index since November 17. At the end of trading on that day, the index stood at 4,775 points.
In addition, on Thursday, the DSE’s Shariah index fell by 8 points to 1001 points and the DS-30 index fell by 9 points to 1860 points.
On Thursday, shares and units worth Tk 375.78 crore were traded on the DSE floor. On the previous working day (Wednesday), Tk 375.78 crore shares and securities were traded and Tk 457.49 crore was traded on Sunday.
All price indices in Chattogram Stock Exchange (CSE), also fell on Thursday. The overall index CASPI fell by 70 points to 13,624 points. A total of 135 securities were traded in the bourse on Thursday Of these, the prices of 36 increased, 76 decreased and 23 remained unchanged.
Securities worth Tk 4.52 crore were traded in the CSE on Thursday. Shares and securities worth Tk 5.81 crore were traded on Wednesday.
