Spring GDS, a global leader in cross-border logistics, has announced the launch of its Book & Claim solution for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), a new initiative designed to reduce emissions from air transport and help customers meet their sustainability goals with verified, transparent reporting.
This announcement marks the company’s next major step toward achieving net-zero emissions by 2040, building on the success of its HVO100 biofuel initiative, which has already reduced road transport emissions by up to 90%.
Through its new SAF Book & Claim model, Spring GDS offers customers the opportunity to decarbonise their air shipments without needing direct access to the fuel itself.

Spring GDS has secured a significant amount of SAF, ensuring verified emission reduction attributes for its customers.
Through the Book & Claim mechanism, businesses can choose the share of SAF they wish to associate with their air transport, effectively reducing emissions at the source, even where SAF is not physically available.
Each transaction is independently certified under ISCC standards and recorded on the fuel supplier’s blockchain platform to guarantee transparency and prevent double counting. Customers receive verified reports aligned with global standards such as the GHG Protocol.
