Spotify is currently down for many users, with the music streaming service experiencing playback issues and displaying error messages.
Problems began around 1.51pm GMT today (December 15), when a surge of reports on Downdetector indicated thousands of users encountering issues with the mobile app. So far, more than 6,000 users in the UK have reported problems.
According to Downdetector, 81% of reports relate to the Spotify app, 11% to the website, and 8% to server connection issues.
Spotify has yet to acknowledge the outage, and the cause of the disruption remains unclear. Downdetector reports spiked rapidly, showing widespread issues, while the Spotify Status X account, which typically confirms outages first, has not posted any updates.
