The UK-based Smarter Web Company has achieved a major milestone in its cryptocurrency treasury strategy, recently acquiring 226.42 BTC and pushing its total Bitcoin holdings to 1,000 BTC—worth approximately $108.9 million at current market prices.
According to a press release, the London-listed tech firm made the purchase on July 7, paying an average price of around $107,726 per Bitcoin. The acquisition, valued at $24.67 million, is part of the company’s long-term “10 Year Plan” to build a substantial Bitcoin reserve.
The company’s crypto treasury strategy has proven remarkably successful, reporting a staggering year-to-date return of 26,242%.
This latest move underscores Smarter Web Company’s continued commitment to Bitcoin as a core asset in its financial strategy, marking a significant step in its ambition to become a leading corporate holder of the digital currency.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin continues its modest recovery following a brief market dip earlier in the day. At press time, BTC is trading at $108,998, reflecting a 0.77% increase over the past 24 hours and a weekly gain of 0.66%. The cryptocurrency reached a daily high of $109,574 after briefly dipping below the $108,000 level.
