Black Friday is almost here, but there are already some big discounts up for grabs in Sky’s sale. The big day isn’t until November 28 this year, but anyone looking to upgrade their TV or home broadband can find discounts of more than £100 across Sky’s packages.
There are deals on Sky Stream, Sky Sports and fibre broadband with speeds up to 500 Mbps, while some options are now at their ‘lowest ever price’. Sky is throwing in some extra benefits too, including free subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+ and up to £200 to cover broadband switching costs on select plans.
There’s also the cheapest price we’ve ever seen for a Sky Glass smart TV that’s available for £3 when spreading the cost. We’ve sifted through Sky’s Black Friday offerings and pulled together a handful of our favourites, alongside some rival deals from Virgin Media’s sale.
With that, here are the best TV and broadband deals in Sky’s Black Friday sale.
Arguably the most eye-catching deal in Sky’s Black Friday sale is on its Ultimate TV and 500Mbps Full Fibre Broadband bundle. Now at its ‘lowest ever price’, this provides access to more than 140 channels and 500Mbps broadband and includes free subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+.
It’s been reduced from £44 to £39 per month, which saves £120 over the 24-month contract, while customers can customise the packages with add-ons like Sky Sports or increase its broadband speed up to 900Mbps. There’s also a cheaper option, the Essential TV and 500Mbps Full Fibre Broadband bundle, that comes with the same benefits but with 35 fewer channels for £35 (was £40).
Just keep in mind that Sky will raise its prices every April, so customers can expect to see their bills go up at least twice during the minimum term. The same goes for Virgin Media, which is giving away three months free on its rival Entertainment bundle, which comes with more than 200 channels, Netflix and 362Mbps broadband for £36.99.
Sports fans may want to consider this price drop on the Essential TV, Sky Sports, Netflix and Full Fibre 500 bundle. It provides full Sky Sports coverage of the Premier League, EFL, Carabao Cup, Formula 1, rugby, golf, NFL and more, and is now £144 cheaper.
It’s been slashed from £61 to £55 per month and comes with nine dedicated sports channels alongside more than 100 regular channels, Netflix and Discovery+. It also includes 500Mbps fibre broadband for the price of 75Mbps.
With this, members can enjoy more than 1,000 football games every season from UK and European leagues such as the Bundesliga. It comes as Sky increased its Premier League coverage from 128 to at least 215 Premier League games at the start of this season, which it says represents 80% of all televised games.
One downside here is that there’s no UEFA Champions League or Europa League coverage on Sky, as TNT Sports and Prime Video hold the rights to these games.
Sky launched its latest smart TV earlier this year, and it’s up for grabs for £3 when splitting the cost with a monthly package. The slim and sleek Sky Glass Air has dropped from £6 to £3 monthly, while the larger Sky Glass Gen 2 has dropped from £14 to £11.
There is a catch though, as only existing Sky customers are eligible for the deal, which is available when adding Sky Sports (£20), Sky Cinema (£10) or half-price Sky Whole Home (£7.50) to the package. For those unfamiliar with the Sky Glass range, it’s Sky’s own-brand 4K Ultra HD smart TV that works without an aerial or satellite dish, as it features Sky TV and streaming apps built in.
It works over WiFi, similar to a Freely TV such as the 50″ Hisense 4K UHD Freely TV AI TV (£269), but with the bonus of providing Sky access too. Those without an existing Sky subscription can get in on the action too, albeit with the pricier Sky Glass Air, Essential TV and Full Fibre 500 bundle for £39.
For bargain hunters simply looking to change their home broadband, one of Sky’s fastest options has now hit its ‘lowest ever price’. The deal in question is for Sky’s 500Mbps Full Fibre Broadband, which has fallen from £31 to £29 per month.
Customers can also claim up to £200 to cover switching costs. Cheaper options are available for those happy with slower speeds, such as 150Mbps for £25 and 300Mbps for £28.
However, anyone living in an area serviced by Virgin Media may want to check out its rival broadband deals offering three months free. This includes the provider’s fastest option, the £29.99 Gig1 Fibre Broadband, providing a whopping 1,130 Mbps and a free Netflix subscription
