Sky Sports has sensationally dropped its new Halo brand after a furious backlash to the female-targeted “lil sis” of their main coverage.
The broadcaster was accused of ‘patronising’ female sport fans by launching a TikTok channel featuring videos plastered with love hearts, pink text, and a dainty tone.
A statement posted to the page on Saturday night confirmed the brand had been dropped. It read: “Our intention for Halo was to create a space alongside our existing channel for new, young, female fans.
“We’ve listened. We didn’t get it right. As a result we’re stopping all activity on this account. We’re learning and remain as committed as ever to creating spaces where fans feel included and inspired.”
