KARACHI: The Government of Sindh, through its College Education Department, has announced the launch of applications for the Bhutto STEM Scholarship for the 2026-27 academic year. The scholarship will be offered at Lady Margaret Hall, University of Oxford, in partnership with the Oxford Pakistan Programme.
According to the official announcement, the programme is aimed at highly qualified and motivated candidates from Sindh who wish to pursue Master’s, MPhil, or PhD/DPhil degrees. While applicants from all eligible fields may apply, preference will be given to those from science, technology, engineering, and mathematics disciplines.
A total of six scholarships will be awarded for the upcoming academic session. Three of these are reserved for female candidates under the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Initiative, while the remaining three will be granted on open merit through the Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Initiative.
Applicants must hold a valid Sindh CNIC, domicile, and PRC (Form-D), and must meet the academic and English language requirements set by the University of Oxford. Candidates are also required to secure an unconditional offer for admission for the 2026-27 academic year and must not be receiving any other scholarship.
The application process involves submitting an online application through the Oxford Pakistan Programme website. Only complete applications will be reviewed, and shortlisted candidates may be invited for interviews. Final assessments will be conducted jointly by the College Education Department and the OPP Scholarship Committee.
The authorities have stated that the opening and closing dates for applications will be announced through the official link provided by the Oxford Pakistan Programme.
