New Delhi: In a significant development for India’s oil and gas sector, the Public Enterprises Selection Board (PESB) has officially recommended Shri Vikas for the post of Managing Director of Bharat Petro Resources Limited (BPRL). The decision was made following a comprehensive selection process, which included interviews with a total of eight candidates from various public sector undertakings.
The recommendation of Shri Vikas, who is currently the Chief General Manager at Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC), marks a new chapter for BPRL. As a subsidiary of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), BPRL focuses on upstream exploration and production activities. It aims to secure crude supply and reduce price risks for its parent company.
Shri Vikas was chosen from a list of highly qualified candidates, which included senior executives from Bharat Petro Resources Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, Engineers India Limited, and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation Limited. His extensive experience in the sector, especially in business development, policy, and commercial areas, is expected to be a major asset in his new role. The official appointment now awaits approval from the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).
