MONTROSE, Colo. (KREX) — Montrose County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a shooting in the area of 510 Chipeta Drive, which is located on the north rim of Sunset Mesa, early Saturday morning.
Deputies from the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office, alongside officials from the Colorado State Patrol and the Montrose Police Department, arrived on the scene. Upon arrival, a 19-year-old female was located with an apparent gunshot wound.
Officials administered life-saving measures at the scene before the victim was transported to Montrose Regional Hospital in serious condition.
The investigation of the incident is underway with the Colorado Bureau of Investigation and the Montrose County Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division actively conducting interviews and gathering information from witnesses.
