She Evolves 2025 Brings Empowerment and Community to Minneapolis

She Evolves 2025 transformed Urban Daisy into a vibrant space for learning, networking, and self-reflection as hundreds of young women gathered for an evening centered on confidence, growth, and action. Organized by Bahja Abdi, the Minneapolis-based empowerment event combined candid conversation, entrepreneurship guidance, and community connection to encourage attendees to show up fully for themselves and their goals.

On December 27, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Urban Daisy in Minneapolis became a hub of energy, inspiration and connection for hundreds of young women at She Evolves 2025. The empowerment event, organized by Bahja Abdi, was designed to spark growth, confidence, and action.

In addition to a thought-provoking panel discussion, the evening featured local vendors, complimentary food pop-ups, and refreshing mocktails, creating an environment where attendees could learn, network, and enjoy the creativity of Minneapolis’ local community.

From the beginning, the event emphasized the importance of showing up not just physically but emotionally and mentally for yourself. Panelists spoke candidly about their personal experiences with fear, doubt and criticism, making it clear that feeling misunderstood or overlooked is a common part of the journey.

“It was really hard to bring this event to life,” Abdi shared. “I had millions of people telling me nobody would show up, but then I looked around and saw all of you. You have to believe in it. You have to show up and prove it, first to yourself, and then to others.”

This idea of belief as action resonated throughout the evening. The panel emphasized that anyone building something, whether a business, a creative project, or a personal goal, will face skepticism. Often this skepticism is not rooted in malice but in others simply not seeing the vision.

The key, they said, is persistence. Taking small, deliberate steps and trusting the process, even when the path is unclear, is essential to growth.

The conversation also highlighted the value of self-awareness and emotional intelligence. Negative emotions such as envy, frustration and jealousy are natural, but unchecked they shape your energy and your environment.

Twenty-three-year-old millionaire serial entrepreneur Inayah McMillan, who is Afro-Latina and Muslim, encouraged the crowd with her impressive business portfolio, sharing how the loss of her brother clarified how short life truly is.

“Check in with yourself constantly,” McMillan urged. “Ask yourself why am I feeling this way? What’s in my heart right now? The energy you carry shapes your reality. If you are holding onto negativity, it will reflect in your life. But if you cultivate love, grace and positivity, that is the energy you will see around you.”

For young women learning to navigate personal and professional spaces, this lesson struck a chord. The panel encouraged attendees to embrace imperfection and understand that being misunderstood is part of growth.

“You do not always have to explain yourself,” McMillan said. “If your intentions are good and your heart is clean, that is enough.”

Entrepreneurship was a central theme of the evening. The panel shared concrete advice alongside these mindset lessons, emphasizing the importance of taking the first step, even without knowing all the answers.

“Use what you have, reach out to people a few steps ahead of you, and put yourself out there,” McMillan advised. “People are willing to help. The hardest part is starting, but once you take that first step, momentum will carry you forward.”

She shared her journey of starting a modest clothing brand despite having no previous experience in fashion. She spoke about learning online, reaching out to mentors, and building her company step by step.

“I literally had no idea what I was doing at first,” she said. “I watched videos, took notes, and created my own roadmap. It was not perfect, but I started. Now, I have a full collection. That first step was everything.”

Another important topic was the fear of success, a feeling many young women face, especially when stepping out of familiar environments. Abdi validated these fears while providing strategies for moving forward.

“Are you more afraid of staying where you are or of seeing what could happen if you try?” she asked. “Nothing is permanent. You can always pivot. The only thing stopping you is yourself.”

Creating a supportive community was another key point. Speakers emphasized the role of mentorship, social media, and surrounding yourself with like-minded individuals. Following inspiring creators, curating your environment, and seeking guidance help normalize ambitious goals and make the process feel less intimidating.

The evening also offered practical advice for balancing ambition with self-care. One speaker explained the importance of pouring from a full cup, making sure your needs and boundaries are met before constantly giving to others. This includes understanding the fine line between healthy people-pleasing and overextending yourself.

“It is okay to disappoint people sometimes,” she said. “If you are showing up for yourself and taking care of your energy, you can still give and lead from a place of strength.”

Attendees left the event with actionable takeaways, from mindset shifts to concrete strategies for entrepreneurship. They were reminded that the present moment is the only moment they have, and that the youngest they will ever be is now.

“The moment you make a decision and start, things begin to open up,” Abdi said. “A year from today, you will not be the same person if you take action now. Show up for yourself. Make the decision. Start. The doors will open.”

She Evolves 2025 proved that when women gather to learn, support one another, and take intentional action, extraordinary outcomes are possible. The event celebrated courage, growth, and the power of community, leaving attendees inspired to pursue their goals, embrace their fears, and step boldly into the next chapter of their lives.

Whether it was through the stories shared on stage, the networking with local vendors, or the simple joy of gathering with like-minded individuals over food and mocktails, the evening reinforced a timeless truth: Empowerment begins when you show up, speak your truth, and take the first step toward your dreams.
