SharpLink Gaming is reshaping its leadership team to strengthen its position in the Ethereum ecosystem. The Nasdaq-listed firm added three senior executives with backgrounds in crypto and institutional finance.
The hires signal the company’s focus on growing its ETH holdings and expanding institutional engagement. Each new leader brings experience from major firms like Bain Capital, FalconX, Consensys, and Bridgewater Associates.
SharpLink said the appointments aim to support its treasury management and strategic growth initiatives.
The new executives will report directly to co-CEO Joseph Chalom, who described the additions as key to building a trusted institutional team in digital asset treasury management.
According to SharpLink’s announcement, the expansion supports the company’s strategy of acquiring Ether and actively managing its treasury to enhance returns. The appointments were shared on social media, including a detailed tweet by SharpLink Gaming (@SharpLinkGaming).
Matthew Sheffield joins as Chief Investment Officer after leading U.S. Spot Trading at FalconX. He managed one of the largest OTC desks and contributed to deploying FalconX into digital asset treasury investments.
Previously, Sheffield worked at Bridgewater Associates on systematic trading strategies across global rates and credit markets. At SharpLink, he will oversee capital allocation, yield optimization, and strategic investments to boost ETH concentration and performance.
Sheffield’s role is central to SharpLink’s plan to outperform passive ETH exposure. His experience in both institutional markets and crypto trading positions him to guide the company’s capital markets strategy.
The firm highlighted that Sheffield will help design strategies to maximize treasury efficiency and returns. His appointment aligns with SharpLink’s goal to combine institutional expertise with blockchain innovation.
Mandy Campbell becomes Chief Marketing Officer, moving from Bain Capital Crypto, where she led marketing for digital asset and early-stage venture funds. She also held leadership roles at OKX, GitHub, Lyft, and Facebook.
At SharpLink, Campbell will manage global brand strategy, communications, and outreach across retail, institutional, and crypto-native audiences.
Michael Camarda joins as Chief Development Officer from Consensys, SharpLink’s Ethereum partner. His experience spans corporate development, M&A, venture investments, and institutional finance from J.P. Morgan.
Camarda is tasked with designing innovative financing structures, tokenization initiatives, and institutional partnerships. The appointments strengthen SharpLink’s ability to integrate decentralized finance strategies with traditional capital markets.
