Sesko wasn’t the sole new striker to land at Old Trafford. Ex-Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo has been getting to know his new colleague having arrived in a £71m transfer.
During one of his initial United interviews, Mbeumo shared his views on Sesko’s early impact within the squad, commenting: “He looks like a cool guy. He’s a good guy. I think it’s important [to help people settle], especially when you come from another league and you don’t really know [things here].”
Unease over Erling Haaland comparisons
Both Sesko and Erling Haaland played for RB Salzburg and, remarkably, he previously revealed many of their former team-mates believed he surpassed the Manchester City striker. He had previously said: “My team-mates at the club tell me that Haaland and I are very similar, especially in terms of speed. Most of them even tell me that I’m better than him!”.
When confronted with that specific remark during a chat with The Telegraph, Sesko retreated from the bold claim, saying: “What should I say? This is comparing me to someone who is one of the best players in the world. So, it’s not easy to compare. I would not like to compare myself to anyone. I would just love to be myself and be the best myself.”
