A market pundit has suggested that investors divulge their holdings in Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other altcoins in order to increase their exposure to XRP.
While a market uptrend typically involves most top crypto assets, some tokens tend to perform better than others during such periods due to greater demand, unique bullish dispositions, and market size. For instance, between 2020 and 2021, Bitcoin (BTC) rose 363%, while Ethereum (ETH) surged 871%. Meanwhile, XRP only increased by 291%.
As a result of these differences in price performance during bull markets, most investors find it difficult to pick the right crypto asset for optimal gains. Notably, some of those who chose to invest in XRP during the 2020/2021 market run may have felt some disappointment, seeing that their investments would have performed 3x better if they had opted for ETH.
Investors face the same dilemma today, as the market prepares for what many analysts believe will be the second leg of the ongoing bull run. Amid this anticipation, Cameron Scrubs, founder of The Tradeship University, has urged investors to consider investing in XRP instead.
In a disclosure earlier in the month, Scrubs asked his followers to sell Bitcoin, Ethereum, ZCash (ZEC), and Dogecoin (DOGE) and instead buy XRP. “Sell everything. Buy XRP,” he said. At the time of his statement, BTC traded for $101,000, ETH changed hands at $3,315, while XRP had a value of $2.21.
While the market has tumbled since then, some assets have held up better than others. For instance, currently trading for $84,398, BTC has dropped 16.43% while ETH has collapsed by 16.9% within the same timeframe. Meanwhile, XRP has witnessed a less aggressive 12.2% drop, displaying greater resilience. However, ZEC has held up best, only down 3%.
Nonetheless, Scrubs did not focus on short-term price action but XRP’s future outlook, which he and multiple other pundits believe looks bright. Last month, Scrubs argued that XRP was on the verge of going on a “generational run,” suggesting that he expects the forthcoming rally to be greater than the 2024 upsurge.
Notably, this confidence has been bolstered by XRP’s impressive showing during the November 2024 rally, which exposed the token’s potential to outperform the rest of the market. Specifically, XRP soared from $0.5 in early November 2024 to a peak of $3.4 in January 2025, representing a 580% increase within three months. XRP stood out as the best performer during this period.
Pundits like Scrubs believe a similar pattern could play out once the market recovers from the ongoing uncertainty. As a result, experts have continued to predict loftier targets for XRP. Specifically, if BTC soared to the much-anticipated $250,000 price, this would represent a 196% ROI for investors.
However, if XRP reaches even the $10 target, investors will see returns of 415%. Moreover, another factor contributing to the confidence in XRP is the anticipated impact of the XRP ETFs. For context, after the launch of ETFs, BTC soared to new highs. Most believe XRP could follow a similar trend.
However, this may not play out the way market commentators like Scrubs expect. As a result, investors should consider the opinions of financial advisors before making any investment decisions.
