The Sei Development Foundation (SDF) has announced an extension to the submission deadline for its ongoing ai/accelathon, alongside hosting an in-person event in New York City. This decision comes in response to a surge in interest and submissions, according to Sei.
The ai/accelathon, which offers up to $1 million in rewards, will now accept submissions until August 24th, 11:59 PM ET. This extension provides participants with additional time to refine their projects, showcasing the potential of AI within Sei’s blockchain infrastructure.
In conjunction with the deadline extension, the SDF will host Accelathon IRL on August 18 at their headquarters in NYC. This event aims to connect AI builders, developers, and thought leaders in a collaborative environment. Activities will include office hours with Sei Labs and SDF teams, coworking opportunities, and discussions with prominent figures in the AI industry.
The event is strategically scheduled just after ETH NYC, making it convenient for those attending the Ethereum event to extend their stay. Participants will have the opportunity to network with fellow innovators, gain insights from industry leaders, and receive feedback on their projects from experienced builders.
The event will feature open office hours, coworking sessions, lunch, a fireside chat, and a happy hour, providing ample networking opportunities for AI builders, web3 developers, investors, and industry leaders.
With the new timeline, submissions will remain open until August 24, followed by a judging period from August 25 to 31. Winners will be announced on September 2, with a virtual VC pitch event for track winners on September 4.
The competition is segmented into several tracks, including DeFi and Payments, Consumer Agents, Tooling and Infrastructure, Frontier Technology, and The Unexpected, each with substantial rewards. A Grand Prize of $75,000 will be awarded to the best overall project.
