A Somerset radio station is urging people to shop in their community this summer.
Sedgemoor FM, based in Bridgwater, is running a prize giveaway throughout July as part of its Think Local First campaign.
The campaign encourages people to shop locally, take a photo of their purchase, and share it on social media for a chance to win weekly prizes.
Dave Englefield, managing director of Sedgemoor FM, said: “We all say we care about our local shops.
“But real support means showing up, spending locally, and sharing that story with others.
“That’s what this campaign is about – recognising the power of our everyday choices.”
The campaign runs from Tuesday, July 1 to Thursday, July 31, with prizes from businesses including Vodafone Bridgwater, Timeless Images, Hays Travel Bridgwater, and Thatchers Cider.
To enter, shoppers simply need to post a photo of their purchase on Facebook or Instagram, tagging Sedgemoor FM.
Winners will be announced each week on-air and online.
Think Local First began as an on-air message but has since grown into a wider movement.
It now includes a Facebook group, interviews with community leaders, business involvement, and thousands of flyers distributed throughout Sedgemoor.
The campaign message is clear: “Every time you shop local, you’re not just making a purchase, you’re backing your town.
