Terrance Ferguson once again didn’t see much action for the Los Angeles Rams, but that didn’t mean he didn’t make an impact. Rams head coach Sean McVay specifically called out the second-round rookie for a huge hustle play that saved a point in L.A.’s 33-19 win over the Tennessee Titans.
Late in the fourth quarter, the Titans blocked and recovered Josh Karty’s PAT following Blake Corum’s one-yard rushing touchdown. Marcus Harris, the Titans player who picked up the ball, had a chance to run the attempt back for a two-point play before Ferguson tackled him to end the play.
“What an individual play when we got the extra point blocked to not allow them to be able to get two,” McVay said after the game. “You see the athleticism to be able to track that down. He’s a guy we want to get going.”
With Colby Parkinson hurt, Tyler Higbee and Davis Allen served as the Rams’ top two tight ends. Higbee caught four passes for 37 yards, while Allen caught an eight-yard touchdown. Ferguson, meanwhile, seems to be relegated to special teams while he continues to hone his blocking skills and learn the offense.
