MALABON City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval on Monday took her oath of office for the second term before Malabon Regional Trial Court Executive Judge Rosario Inez-Pinzon.
Held at the Malabon Sports Center, the ceremony was attended by the entire city hall department heads and employees as well as barangay (village) officials and a large number of the mayor’s constituents.
With the theme “Isang Bagong Yugto, Iisang Layunin” (a new period, one purpose), the event marked the formal assumption of duties and responsibilities of the elected and reelected officials, city administrator Alexander Rosete said.
“This reaffirms their commitment to serve the ‘Malabuenos’ with integrity, transparency and accountability,” he told The Manila Times.
“It aims to reinforce the officials’ commitment to uphold laws, serve with integrity, and protect public interest through their oath taken witnessed by their families,” he added.

Sandoval thanked the city electorate for giving her a fresh mandate.
She vowed to work double-time, saying that the programs she implemented during her first term were only a part of the more concrete initiatives that her administration would carry out in the next three years.

“These programs will always be pro-poor and pro-people and more infrastructure projects that would transform Malabon into a more competitive and progressive city,” the mayor said.
She then administered the oath of office of Vice Mayor Edward Nolasco and city councilors Maricar Torres, Ian Emmanuel Borja, Leslie Yambao, Paulo Oreta, Gerry Bernardo, Payapa Ona (1st District), Nadja Marie Vicencio, Jasper Cruz, Len Yanga, and Rom Cunanan (2nd District).
