Cronos (CRO) Labs, a prominent blockchain technology firm, has announced the appointment of Ryan Wyatt as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The announcement was made on December 15, 2025, according to Cronos.
Ryan Wyatt is recognized for his 17-year career in building community-focused organizations and products across the gaming, technology, and blockchain industries. Most recently, he dedicated four years to the blockchain sector, serving as President at Polygon Labs. Additionally, he played a pivotal role as Chief Growth Officer at Optimism, where he attracted global partners such as Kraken, Uniswap, Sony, and Worldcoin to the OP Stack ecosystem, significantly contributing to its expansion.
Prior to his blockchain endeavors, Wyatt spent seven years at YouTube, where he transformed ‘YouTube Gaming’ from a nascent concept into a core business division, generating multi-billion dollar revenues through collaborations with creators and game publishers.
Wyatt has articulated a clear vision for Cronos Labs, emphasizing the need to leverage its robust foundation beyond a generic Layer 1 (L1) strategy. He plans to focus on building revenue-generating products and creating a seamless DeFi on-ramp for Crypto.com users and beyond. Wyatt intends to pivot Cronos into a vertically integrated, product-focused company, offering first-party applications built on its proprietary blockchain. These applications will be distributed through Crypto.com, aiding in the buy-and-burn mechanism of the CRO token.
Wyatt also highlighted the importance of maintaining a permissionless ecosystem that allows developers to freely deploy and build applications, while prioritizing tangible value creation, user experience, and sustainable growth based on transaction fees.
In line with the new strategic direction, Cronos Labs plans to recruit a Chief Product Officer (CPO) and a Head of Business Development and Partnerships to strengthen its leadership team. The company is also set to unveil new products and strategic partnerships in the coming months to further realize its vision.
