One year after signing an MOU in August last year, RWA LAOS CO., LTD, Lao Foblab Co., Ltd., and the Ministry of Technology and Communications of Laos have entered a concrete implementation phase. The official announcement, scheduled for August 21, will mark the beginning of a large-scale cooperation project aimed at accelerating Laos’s digital economy.
The agreement includes initiatives such as ▲developing and upgrading the Laos Digital Park infrastructure ▲fostering emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain, and big data ▲establishing a digital sandbox ▲creating a legal and investment support center ▲technology transfer and workforce training ▲supporting startups ▲and hosting international events. In addition, through regulatory improvements such as temporary approval of digital assets and the establishment of technical standards, the partnership seeks to lay the foundation for Laos to become a digital hub in Asia.
A representative from RWA LAOS stated, “This agreement is a crucial step for Laos to proactively build the core infrastructure of the digital economy in line with the global trend of accelerated digital transformation. In particular, the introduction of a financial regulatory sandbox will allow global enterprises and innovative startups to freely test and expand new technologies and business models, enabling Laos to emerge as a strategic hub of the Asian digital economy.”
An official from the Ministry of Technology and Communications of Laos added, “This agreement marks a strategic starting point for Laos to fully embark on national-level digital transformation and to strengthen its ties with the global digital economy ecosystem. By comprehensively promoting digital infrastructure, innovation industries, and regulatory reforms through cooperation with RWA LAOS and Lao Foblab, we aim to create a reliable business environment for international companies and investors. This will be a vital stepping stone for Laos to rise as a creative hub of the Asian digital economy.”
Furthermore, with Seoul Labs joining as a collaboration partner, all blockchain technology projects within the Laos Digital Park will be developed based on Xphere, ensuring technological consistency, global competitiveness, and sustainable growth of the Lao digital ecosystem.
