Russell Martin has praised Youssef Chermiti as a ‘brilliant’ investment for Rangers.
The striker joined from Everton on deadline day for a reported fee of £8million, potentially rising to £10m with add-ons.
Despite not scoring during his two-year stint at Everton, Martin believes the Portugal under-21 international will excel at Ibrox.
When asked about the fee paid for Chermiti, Martin said: “One, I’m not in charge of that which is a beautiful thing to come out and say to you guys.

“The other thing is, it doesn’t come into my thinking really.
“It’s a long-term investment for the football club, I think it’ll be a brilliant investment for the football club.
“But in here, the expectation is that he works as hard as he possibly can.
“He wants to learn, he wants to grow and he wants to help the team.
“I think he’ll do really well for us.”
Chermiti could make his Rangers debut against Heart of Midlothian at Ibrox this Saturday, alongside fellow transfer deadline day recruit Derek Cornelius.
