Finding a job has become harder and many companies are taking advantage of this situation. A recent job has sparked outrage because of its long hiring process and low pay. The company advertised a role with an annual salary between Rs 2.4 Lakh and Rs 3 Lakh. At first glance, it looked like a normal opening. But once people noticed the selection steps, the criticism began. According to the job post, candidates first had to clear a virtual test task, followed by a group discussion.

After that, selected candidates were required to face three separate technical interviews. In total, the process included five rounds. Even after clearing all of them, the selected candidate will not get a full salary right away. During the probation period, the company planned to pay only Rs 12,000 per month as a stipend. The job also required signing a 2.5 year service agreement. Many users felt the effort did not match the pay and called the process exhausting.

Long Hiring Process Sparks Criticism

According to the job advertisement, the selection process consists of five rounds. It begins with a virtual test assignment, followed by a face to face group discussion. Candidates who pass these rounds then go through three separate face to face technical interviews. During the training or probation period, selected candidates will receive a stipend of Rs 12,000 per month. After probation, the full time salary or CTC, will be between Rs 2.4 to 3 Lakh per annum. On top of that, employees must sign a service agreement for 2.5 years from the date of joining. The company plans to start the position in January 2026.

The post shared on Reddit came with the caption, “Audacity of companies these days.”

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “In my college, they rejected all 9+ CGPA students so that the new recruits don’t switch jobs quickly. I mean, they just need slaves at this point. It’s an interview to recruit slaves.”

Another shared, “Startups and small scale companies pay 3 LPA to juniors with just 1 interview of 30-40 mins.”

“It doesn’t make sense at all,” a comment read.

An individual stated, “After the final round, they might even ghost you.”

Another mentioned, “It is kind of frustrating 3 lpa after this much effort, bond should be illegal at this stage, how can one survive with 2.4 to 3 lpa in a tier 1 city.”

One more shared that this job process reminded them of their own experience when joining TCS in 2005. Back then, they also had to go through two test rounds and three interview rounds. As a fresher, they received a salary of only Rs 12,000 per month and had to agree for a two year service bond with the company.
