The National Company “Poșta Română” closes the year 2024 with an exceptional financial result, reporting a record gross profit of 85.3 million lei – the highest level ever recorded in its recent history. This milestone marks a profound transformation in the company’s trajectory, successfully blending tradition with economic performance and operational efficiency.
Spectacular 400% Increase in Profit Compared to the Previous Year
These figures reflect not only a remarkable financial performance but also signal the consolidation of Poșta Română as a mature, modernized economic player, capable of competing effectively in a dynamic and competitive market.
“2024 was the year in which the Post achieved what many thought impossible: the best year in its recent history. Without subsidies and under constant anti-reform pressure, we proved that even majority state-owned companies can succeed. This record profit confirms that investments in technology upgrades and digitalization are paying off. The collective effort of nearly 20,000 employees over the past three years shows that strong results require time and determination. This is a historic milestone proving that we’re on the right track — and that this Company is profitable without abandoning its public mission,” said Valentin Ștefan, CEO of Poșta Română.
These outstanding results were made possible through an accelerated modernization process, including technology upgrades, digitalization of services, streamlining of internal processes, and expansion of the commercial portfolio. All this was achieved without budgetary support, as Poșta Română operates exclusively on its own revenue in a competitive market.
2025 – Continuing a Strategic Transformation
Poșta Română is maintaining its upward trajectory in 2025 with an ambitious investment program focused on technology upgrades, IT infrastructure, modernization of the national network, development of new commercial services, and strengthening its role as an essential provider for communities across the country.
