On the occasion of Romanian Aviation and Air Force Day, on Sunday, July 20, starting at 10:00 AM, a military and religious ceremony will take place at the Air Heroes Monument in Aviators’ Square.
During the ceremony, military aircraft belonging to the Romanian Air Force will perform flyovers — F-16 Fighting Falcon, C-130 Hercules, C-27J Spartan, AN-30, IAK-52, IAR-330, and IAR-99, SMURD EC-135 helicopters, S-70M Black Hawk helicopters, and a Learjet 75 aircraft from the Ministry of Internal Affairs. In addition, SA-365 Dauphin helicopters of the Romanian Intelligence Service, a TAROM Boeing 737 aircraft, and Extra 300 aircraft from the Romanian Aeroclub will participate, along with Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft from the Italian Air Force.
Journalists who wish to attend the event at the Air Heroes Monument may access the site between 9:15 and 9:45 AM.
Romanian Aviation and Air Force Day is celebrated every year on July 20, the feast day of Saint Elijah the Tishbite, the spiritual patron of pilots.
