Ripple’s XRP escrow program, with its long history, might be reaching an end. There are now predictions about when the rest of the supply might hit the market. Based on the latest trends and updated forecasts, the remaining 36.4 billion XRP in escrow could be released completely in as little as six years.
If Ripple keeps up the current pace of releasing 300 million XRP each month, it’ll take around 10 years to run out of the full escrow. But if the release rate goes up to 400 million XRP a month starting in 2026, the timeline drops to 7.5 years.

XRPL co-creator and currently Ripple CTO David Schwartz stated that he believes the Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto may have held a large amount of XRP. His statement came as a response to a court’s question about similarities between Bitcoin and XRP and if anything similar to Ripple’s payment system exists on the Bitcoin blockchain.
